BRENTWOOD, TN – Integration Management, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with the Washington State Medical Education and Research Foundation (WSM-ERF) to provide the data management leadership for the state’s landmark healthcare quality initiative.
“We are extremely pleased to be able to apply our expertise to this groundbreaking data management effort,” says Integration Management President Leon Dowling. “This project is very consistent with our national efforts to help transform healthcare data into care solutions for providers and patients.”
The Washington State Medical Education and Research Foundation, under the oversight of the Washington State Medical Association, is launching a major initiative this year to help primary care physicians improve the quality of care for its patients on a statewide basis. Through this project, physicians will receive consolidated data which will provide information to the physician about his/her performance as compared to best practice and peers as well as actionable patient registries related to chronic and preventive care.
The foundation of this study will come from Integration Management’s aggregation of claims data from the major health plans operating in the state, coupled Medicaid and pharmacy data. Like most states, the various quality
improvement efforts that exist in each of the health plans in Washington function independently, and a key deliverable of this project will be the assembly of the health plans’ multiple claims data sets into a consolidated view.
The Integration Management team will serve as the project lead in aggregating the health plan data sets into a unified set of physician and patient specific reports, which the Washington State Medical Association believes will represent a major step in improving the quality of care for the residents of the state.
“The aim is to get unanimous agreement among stakeholders on one set of guidelines for the chronic conditions under study, removing any of the confusion that can be caused by the little nuances in different health plan guidelines,” says Art Sprenkle, M.D., WSM-ERF Project Medical Director.
